Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Monsen Sajid (f. 01/08-24) and Samar (f. 20/10-23) Females | 1 and 2 years | Good with children | Good with other animals Monsen Sajid is short-haired and gray tabby with a lot of black pattern on the back and sides. He is a small kitten with silky soft fur. Nickname from foster mother: Little Tarzan Get to know Sajid and Samar Sajid is kind, playful, curious, trusting and social. He likes to be close and comes up onto your bed, sofa or chair. He is happy with food and lets you know when he is hungry. Then he comes around your legs, rubs against you, tail up, and may even stand on your leg to get a better view of the food preparations. He stretches as long (short) as he can towards the kitchen door. If he hears sounds similar to a candy bag, he is there. Sajid is a social and affectionate cat. He plays well alone, with me, but best with his best friend Samar. They have an incredible time together. He is still cautious and strange sounds can be frightening. It is therefore recommended to remain patient and let beautiful Sajid come to you. Sajid has only been an indoor cat, but is very curious about the air outside, the birds flying by the window, what passes by on the road below and not to forget the "little bugs" in the window frame. Then the hunt begins. Monsen Samar is short-haired and gray tabby with black tiger stripes. The stripes in front are completely symmetrical and can be compared to a work of art. He is a somewhat larger cat with fantastic colors in gray and black. Nickname from foster mother: Tiger Boy. Samar is a kind and somewhat reserved cat. He has never bitten or tried to bite the foster mother. He quickly learned that being too close to the fingers with the teeth when you get treats is not wise. Now he takes treats very carefully and comes right up to the foster mother. Samar's personality has changed from being very shy when he came to become more and more trusting, social, available, curious and playful. He is very fond of treats and somewhat more stubborn with wet food. He eats dry food. When he wants something good, he sits in front of the fridge and looks at me. If he hears sounds similar to a candy bag, he comes quickly. These two have a verbal language that is not the classic meowing, but more like soft sounds where they tell each other stories and sometimes to the foster mother. Samar allows the foster mother to cuddle him when she gives him a treat or when he lies stretched out on the bed with his best friend Sajid. But it must not be too long. He does not scratch, meow and the foster mother has also not seen him "step" with his paws, as many cats do. However, he has changed his language from being very cautious with his tail far down to having his tail higher and higher and suddenly flinging it up to the ceiling. He plays well alone, with me, but best with his best friend Sajid. They have an incredible time together. He is still cautious and high-pitched, strange sounds can be frightening. Therefore, it is recommended to remain patient and be calm around fine Samar. Let him come to you. Samar has only been an indoor cat, but is very curious about the air outside and what passes by on the road below. He likes to sit/lie high up on the climbing frame and look out the window or play with the toys hanging on the climbing frame. Samar and Sajid do not fit in a family with small children, and they should be rehomed together. Sajid and Samar have had health checks, vaccinations and deworming treatment, and they are neutered and microchipped. The package price at the veterinary clinics in Tromsø for a male cat is approximately NOK 4000, while for a female cat you have to pay approximately NOK 6000. So you save a lot of money by getting a cat from the animal welfare organization!

About Sajid

What life with Sajid looks like

Sajid is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Tromsø in Tromsø.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sajid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sajid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Tromsø handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sajid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sajid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Tromsø will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sajid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sajid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Tromsø early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sajid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
