Adopt Salome - EKH

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Born: circa 2024, at Salome - EKH since: 20.04.2026, female, neutered, Salome came to the animal shelter at the end of April as a found animal together with Skyla. Upon arrival, she had many fleas and ticks but was otherwise in good general condition. After vaccination, parasite treatment, and neutering, she moved into the cat house. Salome is very afraid and is having a hard time with the new situation at the animal shelter. She has no problems with her fellow animals but is currently also not seeking any contact. For her, everything is still too much, too new, and too eerie, and she needs time to come to her senses. As soon as people enter the room, she is very afraid and flees in panic. We wish for Salome a new home with a yard where she can be with very patient people who give her time and accept her as she is – whether she becomes a lap cat or not. Alternatively, we could also suggest an "wilding place," such as a farm plot, where she can decide for herself how close people can come. This page share link copy To protect the animals being placed and to cover costs, we charge an adoption fee per animal. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Salome - EKH

What life with Salome - EKH looks like

Salome - EKH is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Salome - EKH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Salome - EKH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Salome - EKH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Salome - EKH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Salome - EKH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Salome - EKH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Salome - EKH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
