Salvie

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

"Hello, my name is Salvie ❤️ I am a very cautious and shy boy, and people are still a bit scary for me. I am not ready for cuddles or touch yet, but I am trying! Every day I take small steps towards becoming more confident, and I hope there is someone out there who has the patience to let me develop at my own pace. 🐾 I am a calm type with a low activity level. Some of the best things I know are good food, and when I'm not eating, you can often find me safely hidden in my favorite hideaway. There I feel safe and can observe the world around me from a distance. I like other cats, and I think a kind and tame cat friend could be just what I need. It would be perfect if I could move to a home where there is already a safe cat that can show me that people are not so scary anyway, or with one of my friends here at the cat house. ♥️ I can have outdoor opportunities, but what's most important to me is a quiet and safe home where I can have time. I don't need you to expect me to become a cuddly cat right away. I just need you to see my small progress and enjoy them with me. Maybe you are the person who has the patience to help me find my safety? 🥹❤️" – Salvie

About Salvie

What life with Salvie looks like

Salvie is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Salvie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Salvie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Salvie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Salvie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Salvie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Salvie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Salvie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
