Our medium-sized lively mixed-breed male dog Sam was born in July 2019, he originally comes from Bulgaria, is neutered, weighs approximately 21 kg and has a shoulder height of about 45 cm. Sam is a very affectionate dog who quickly shows his friendly nature, enjoys the closeness to his trusted people very much, and bonds strongly with these individuals. He gets along well with female dogs – compatibility with male dogs depends on mutual sympathy. On walks, he behaves well when leashed. Sam should only be allowed off the leash when recall is reliably functioning and sufficient relationship building has been done, as he is a breed-typical hunting ambitious dog. He may need to be leashed for life in areas rich with wildlife. Wearing a GPS tracker is strongly recommended. For mental stimulation, substitute training such as tracking or dummy training is suitable – alongside this, consistent leadership, firm structures, and rest periods are necessary. Sam ist ein sehr zugewandter Hund, der sein freundliches Wesen schnell zeigt, die Nähe zu seinen Bezugspersonen sehr genießt und sich stark an diese bindet. Mit Hündinnen ist er verträglich – bei Rüden entscheidet die Sympathie. An der Leine läuft er auf Spaziergängen gut mit. Sam sollte als rassetypisch jagdlich ambitionierter Hund erst von der Leine gelassen werden, wenn der Rückruf zuverlässig funktioniert und ausreichend Beziehungsarbeit geleistet wurde.
