Sammy
Jack Russell Terrier · Male · Senior · 10 years
Sammy does have some medical needs and is on ongoing treatment which our adoption team would be happy to talk you through. It's important that Sammy can have his own safe area in his new home where he can take himself away to if he's feeling overwhelmed. Sammy is a sweet, gentle boy searching for a calm, understanding adult only home, where he can continue to build his confidence. He can find the world a little overwhelming at times, so he’ll need patient adopters who are happy to let him progress at his own pace. Sudden or loud noises can worry him, so he is looking for a quiet, relaxed home environment with minimal visitors while he settles. Sammy may be able to live with another calm, confident dog of a similar size, following a successful introduction at the centre. A secure private garden is important so he can relax, play, and explore without feeling pressured. He has previously been housetrained, but any time spent alone should be introduced gradually as he settles into his new home. His future family will need to visit him a few times at the centre to build a bond and work alongside the training and behaviour team to support his progress. Sammy isn’t overly comfortable with lots of handling and needs to wear a muzzle for vet visits.
