As good as it is that there are people who take action upon seeing suffering animals, this three-legged dog would continue to struggle with a leg in a sling if she were left at the antkaklis. Senior farmers, out of either misunderstanding or inability to care, brought their dogs to such a level that tears are visible as they whimper. On January 23, we went to the remote countryside with VMVT and Radviliškis District representatives to rescue dogs. Upon returning, we took them to Viktorijas and Vilius Adomaičius Radviliškis Veterinary Clinic for check-ups. Kryšta, who was so thin she could barely be seen, had lost a lot of weight (we wrapped her in a blanket during the check-up to keep her warm). A dog of this size should weigh around 12 kg, but she weighs only 8.5… with one rib showing. She also had a belly button button, and we counted the puppies she was carrying. All three received a dose of a deworming tablet. In January, 19 new ones came to us, and the month is not yet over… Such a January has never been in the history of Šiauliai shelter life… Starved and emaciated, we treated them with our bare hands. It is impossible to save them all, as we are still the only shelter in the region that tries to help not only the dogs and people of the Šiauliai district but also those in surrounding areas – cities and villages within a 50 km radius, approximately 😥 Šyva (~2019 birth), Sancho (~2019 birth), Pancho (~2018 birth)

Kaip gerai, kad yra žmonių, kurie visai atsitiktinai pamatę kenčiančius gyvūnus, imasi veiksmų. Taip ši trijulė būtų ir toliau badavusi su virvėm vietoj antkaklio, pririšti grandinėmis. Senukai ūkininkai, ar tai iš nesupratimo, ar iš negalėjimo pasirūpinti, privedė savo šunis iki tokio lygio, kad plika akimi matosi- jie badauja. Sausio 23 d. su VMVT ir Radviliškio savivaldybės atstovais vykome į tolimą kaimą gelbėti šunų. Grįžtant užsukome į svečius pas Viktoriją ir Vilių Adomaičius Radviliškio Veterinarijos Kabinetas apžiūrai. Kalytė sulipusiu į blynus kailiu ( jai tuos blynus per apžiūrą apskabėme), išplikusia oda. Tokio dydžio šuo turėtų sverti apie 12 kg, o ji tesveria 8,5… Vieni kaulai ir oda. Negana to, blusos šoka kadrilį, kaip, beje, ir pas du kitus šuniukus. Ir dar negana to- ją kankina poodinės erkutės (Sarcoptes scabei)… Berniukams irgi šonkaulius skaičiavom. Visiems trims suduota po bravecto tabletę. Per sausio mėnesį pas mus apsigyveno 19 naujokų, o mėnuo dar nesibaigia… Tokio sausio per visą Šiaulių letenėlės gyvavimo istoriją nebuvo… Gūžčiojam pečiais, bijom rytojaus. Negelbėti negalim, nes vis dar esame vienintelė prieglauda visame regione, kuri visais įmanomais būdais bando padėti ne tik Šiaulių rajono, bet ir aplinkinių rajonų – miestelių bei kaimelių gyvūnams ir žmonėms, 50 km spinduliu, maždaug 😥 Šyva (~2019 m. gimimo), Sancho (~2019 m. gimimo), Pancho (~2018 m. gimimo)
