Adopt SANDRA

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 11 months

SANDRA is a lovely young female kitten, 10-11 months old (born May-25). SANDRA will be a great family cat and prefers safe and quiet outdoor opportunities. The foster home has helped SANDRA with such a nice presentation: "Hi, my name is SANDRA. I am a young and healthy cat who is very excited to meet you and be adopted by you. I see myself as calm and very loving, but I also like it when someone plays with me and spends time with me. My favorite places to rest right now are the sofa and my cage, although I have also started to like sleeping in the bed with people. Don't be surprised if you find me sleeping in a funny position, ready for you to fill your photo gallery with pictures of me, or if I accidentally scratch you lightly when I stretch because I enjoy the pampering I get. I love being pampered, especially around my head and on my paws. I am a bit curious and don't like closed doors, they make me meow. I like to be near you, but I am also very independent and need my own personal space. I adapt very well to new places, and if I feel safe, you can be sure that I will start to purr quickly and lie on top of you. Give me some time to sniff around and get to know my new home, then I will be ready to receive all the love you have for me."

About SANDRA

What life with SANDRA looks like

SANDRA is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen in Bergen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting SANDRA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SANDRA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SANDRA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SANDRA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SANDRA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SANDRA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen early rather than rehoming privately; they know SANDRA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
