Patin: Ilka N. Santiago, born circa 2020, neutered, approximately 55 cm, in the shelter since 2022 Santiago was rescued from one of the public animal shelters and has been in Maria's shelter for several years now. He has not yet been able to overcome his fear, as unfortunately, there is often not enough time to give individual dogs the attention they need to have positive experiences. We wish for him a home with empathetic and experienced people who can show him what a good dog life is like in peace and without time pressure or expectations. It should be okay if he never wants to go for walks or cuddle like a normal dog. Maybe he will be good for one or more positive surprises. A securely fenced garden with direct access to the house is a basic requirement. Since Santiago has only poor chances of being adopted, we would be very happy if someone would take a sponsorship for him. He is currently in Romania and is allowed to travel if he finds a home. He will travel chipped and vaccinated (EU vaccination passport; vaccinations: rabies and basic immunization). All dogs are treated against intestinal parasites and ectoparasites at their arrival in the shelter and at least once a year thereafter. The described behavioral observations are based on everyday life in the shelter and may be different in a domestic environment under changed living conditions. Santiago, geboren ca. 2020, kastriert, ca. 55 cm, im Shelter seit 2022 Santiago wurde aus einem der öffentlichen Tierheime gerettet und befindet sich nun schon seit mehreren Jahren in Marias Shelter. Seine Angst konnte er noch nicht ablegen, denn leider fehlt meist die Zeit, um einzelnen Hunden Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken und ihnen so zu den positiven Erfahrungen zu verhelfen, die sie so dringend bräuchten. Wir wünschen uns für ihn ein Zuhause bei einfühlsamen und erfahrenen Menschen, die ihm in Ruhe und ohne Zeitdruck oder Erwartungshaltung zeigen, was ein gutes Hundeleben ist. Es sollte okay sein, wenn er nie wie ein normaler Hund Gassi gehen oder kuscheln will. Vielleicht ist er dann für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung gut. Ein sicher eingezäunter Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Haus ist Grundvoraussetzung. Da Santiago nur schlechte Vermittlungschancen hat, würden wir uns sehr freuen, wenn jemand eine Patenschaft für ihn übernimmt. Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat. Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung). Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt. Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
