Sardyn

Unknown

Sardyn When instead of you, the kitten caught herself, but by complete coincidence you won the lottery and decided to adopt her. Our new charge can now experience what it means to have luck in misfortune... Sardyn came to us by chance, but we are very happy that it happened. The guy needed immediate help, primarily removal of the eye, and at the same time was castrated and examined; FIV/FeLV tests are negative. The teeth, or rather what remained of them, were in bad condition. Sardyn was wild and hissed in the hospital, but after moving to the cat room he kindly agrees to play with us with a fishing rod and does not hide in the corners when we enter his room. Our one-eyed Sardyn became blind. First, we noticed that the eye strangely reflected light in a photo without a flash, and then, by complete coincidence, that it had a completely dilated pupil in full sunlight. At the visit to the ophthalmologist, it turned out that the lens of the eye was dislocated, the pressure in the eyeball was very high and the eye was painful. Unfortunately, the drainage and a few days of non-surgical treatment did not help. Dr. Kasia works miracles with eyes, but she recommended removal of the eyeball. There was nothing left for us but to schedule the kitten for surgery. Already a few days after the operation, we saw positive changes. Sardyn finally relaxed again, it was clear that he no longer felt pain. He was never particularly energetic, he is rather calm, but really after the operation you could see that the tension had left him, meaning that the pain simply stopped, and the small cat regained the joy of life. Although without one sense, in the end, he will be able to live comfortably, and the absence of pain is more important than sight. Animals adapt very quickly to their disabilities. The small cat copes perfectly in "his" cat room. Sardyna virtually supports: Jowita J.

Kocurek radzi sobie w „swojej” kociarni doskonale. Sardyna wirtualnie wspiera: Jowita J.

About Sardyn

What life with Sardyn looks like

Sardyn is a adult cat waiting at Fundacja Kot Toruń in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sardyn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sardyn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Kot Toruń handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sardyn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sardyn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Kot Toruń will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sardyn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sardyn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Kot Toruń early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sardyn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
