Sascha

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Do you want to adopt this animal and give him a home? Then you’ll be his forever home! Here comes our Sascha. We were able to take him in back then along with his mom and brother. Sascha was a very timid puppy who spent his early life in an animal shelter. Thanks to a lot of luck, this wonderful boy was able to travel to a foster home in Germany. The foster home reports: Sascha has settled in very well with us. He has gotten used to us and trusts us. Strangers are still a bit intimidating for him, and he sometimes barks at them. But he is never aggressive or would ever snap. On the other hand, Sascha is also curious and will sniff after them when they leave. With treats and a friendly voice, you can easily win his trust. He applies what he has learned very well. He can already stay alone for short periods, or he can come to the office with us, where he simply lies down in a corner and stays there. We would like to place Sascha in a home with other dogs. He loves dog company. He also enjoys cuddling with us now. He absolutely loves being brushed; as soon as you pick up the brush, he throws himself onto the grass and rolls onto his side so you can brush him. In the garden, he jumps around like a little fawn and acts the clown, getting over the moon when you play with him. Walks outside are great; he walks well on the leash, nose to the ground. He is definitely a very sweet boy who is still a bit of a scaredy-cat, but that will pass with time. Sascha is 1-2 years old, a large mixed-breed male dog. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for Mediterranean diseases. Sascha is a wonderful dog who just needs a bit of time and affection. People with some dog experience will have no trouble with him. Sascha has already traveled on vacation with his foster home and behaved perfectly. Sascha can be visited at any time in Lippetal. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Sascha

What life with Sascha looks like

Sascha is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at PetAngels gGmbH in Hamburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sascha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sascha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PetAngels gGmbH handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sascha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sascha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PetAngels gGmbH will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sascha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sascha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PetAngels gGmbH early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sascha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
