Sasha

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Sasha’s ideal home is away from busy main roads and heavy built-up areas (quieter estates are fine!). It would be best for Sasha to be the only dog in the home so that she can take her time getting adjusted and growing her confidence. There is a possibility for her to live with an older dog who could make a good role model for her, but it would need to be the right fit! If you’re looking for a rewarding training project with a lovable, eager pup – add Sasha to your favourites. Sasha is a gorgeous 5 month old Staffy Cross, who’s hoping to find her forever home! She absolutely loves carrying her toys around in her mouth and is incredibly sweet. As with any puppy she will need someone who is interested in researching and taking her to training classes. She is eager to learn, clever and loves her food! Because her basic training and manners need some work and she can be quite bouncy we believe she would be best placed in an adult only home, or potentially with confident kids 16+. Sasha can be nervous and may struggle to be alone at first so will need a home where someone can be around initially 24/7 with the view to gradually extending this time as she settles in more.

About Sasha

What life with Sasha looks like

Sasha is a puppy/kitten american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Leeds in Leeds.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sasha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sasha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Leeds handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sasha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sasha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Leeds will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sasha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sasha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Leeds early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sasha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
