Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Last afternoon, our intervention team was called to a store where a distressed cat was found in a trash bin at the establishment. Upon arrival, the caregivers found the poor animal seriously injured, frightened, and in obvious pain. The intervention was delicate, but after a few minutes, this approximately one-year-old kitten was rescued and taken to the veterinarian. Urgently treated at the An Atlantel clinic in Plouzané, "Nuage" was put to sleep for a complete clinical examination. After the X-rays, the diagnosis was made. The poor animal had severe consequences from an accident that occurred several days earlier. Unfortunately, his prognosis was critical and his condition was desperate. After long minutes of discussion between the veterinarian, his assistant, and the adoptunchat.org team, it was decided to end the suffering of the poor little Nuage, and he passed away gently in the arms of our caregivers. Investigations then began to find out how this partially paralyzed animal ended up in the trash bin. Was it an act of malice? Had he been thrown there? On the animal's body, pressure sores and abrasions were found, along with muscle atrophy in the hind limbs, indicating that his accident was not recent, probably more than ten days old. This could suggest that he had slipped into the container by himself. The answer would be found by reviewing the surveillance video. Indeed, after his accident, Nuage must have hidden and suffered for many days before dragging himself to the trash bins to find food. After a moment of hesitation, he jumped into the dumpster from which he could no longer escape, and that is how he was discovered by the store staff. We thank the store manager and staff for their welcome and quick reaction. Also, to Dr. Paul-Antoine BERNARD for the prompt care of this young cat. Unfortunately, we could not save Nuage, but we were able to relieve his suffering and ensure he passed without pain. This is also what our teams do.

How do I contact the shelter about Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. AdopteUnChat.org handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — AdopteUnChat.org will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with AdopteUnChat.org early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sauvetage d’un chat dans une poubelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
