Scarlet

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Scarlet is a sweet little lady who has been an absolute delight in her foster home. She’s been busy raising her babies, but while she’s been taking care of her little ones, she’s also been discovering just how lovely it is to receive a little love and attention herself! Scarlet is learning to enjoy having her ears tickled and being stroked, and she’s making such lovely progress. She’s now quite happy to sit close to her humans and will even run to greet you when you enter a room. It’s so lovely to see her growing in confidence and discovering the joys of having people around who adore her. Scarlet is currently in foster care with her babies and will be ready to find her forever home in mid-December. Her fosterer describes her as an absolute delight to have around, and we think whoever welcomes this lovely girl into their family will be very lucky indeed. Scarlet has spent her time being a wonderful mum, and now it’s time for her to find someone who will shower her with all the love and affection she deserves. Could you be the special person Scarlet has been waiting for? ❤️

About Scarlet

What life with Scarlet looks like

Scarlet is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scarlet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scarlet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scarlet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scarlet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Scarlet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scarlet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scarlet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
