Schnipsel & Streusel

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Schnipsel (f, born. ~01/2023) and Streusel (m/k/born. ~01/2023) Streusel was rehomed to Schnipsel in a nice home last year. Unfortunately, the personal situation there has changed, so both are now back at our animal shelter. Schnipsel is a toothed rabbit whose incisors were extracted last summer, so her food needs to be cut into small pieces, but she manages well with this. She is very people-oriented, cuddly, and enjoys being stroked, and she can even do a few tricks. Streusel is also people-oriented and enjoys being stroked but needs some time to build trust. The two make a good team and will only be rehomed together. We wish both a beautiful, species-appropriate home with plenty of space (at least 6 m² on one level) and a healthy/balanced diet. Our rabbits are vaccinated against Myxomatosis, RHD 1, and 2.

Schnipsel (w, geb.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnipsel & Streusel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnipsel & Streusel?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnipsel & Streusel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnipsel & Streusel if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Schnipsel & Streusel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. directly what is included and what Schnipsel & Streusel still needs.
What happens if Schnipsel & Streusel isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnipsel & Streusel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
