Schnudi

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Schnudi can stay forever in your foster home! Her story: With her approximate age of 1.5 years, the enchanting Schnudi is still a young female dog with a bright future ahead. She likely has already experienced tough months and wishes for a loving home. Schnudi was found with two other strays in an abandoned house near Cluj and was rescued. The little cute mouse is described as exceptionally friendly and open. She is a true companion when it comes to other dogs. Whether and how she gets along with cats, we unfortunately do not know. But Schnudi approaches people with openness. At first, she is a bit shy, but she is quite quick to build trust. Schnudi is 40 cm tall and weighs 8 kg. She has brown, dense fur, cute unmistakable floppy ears, and a warm, open gaze that warms the heart. On the leash, Schnudi walks well, and she is already house-trained. We believe that Schnudi will be a wonderful companion who is eager to learn and discover everything new. Cuddles, long walks, and a cozy dog bed. That would be a dream for Schnudi – because she did not have any of that in the abandoned, old house that served as a shelter for her and her companions. Do you want to give the enchanting Schnudi a ticket to a well-cared-for new life full of patience and security? Her luggage is packed, she brings her EU pet passport with her, she is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Schnudi can stay in a foster home for now, and she would be very happy about that! Thank you, Eleanor A., for giving Schnudi this wonderful name and thus an identity. A big thank you also goes to Horst L.-W., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Schnudi. As of: 28.03.

Stand: 28.03.2025

About Schnudi

What life with Schnudi looks like

Schnudi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnudi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnudi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnudi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnudi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schnudi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schnudi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnudi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
