Schnuki

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Schnuki the Schnauzer-Mix boy, was found all alone in San Pedro, wearing a harness that had "Loki" scribbled on it, he did not have a microchip and noone came looking for him.... We think perhaps he came from vagabundos, travelling people or ocupas. As we already have a Loki in the shelter, and as he did not react on the name anyway, then we renamed him Schnuki. A month later, a copy-paste version of Schnuki arrived to the shelter, without a microchip, from a vagabundo, homeless person, and the newcomer was such a copy of Schnuki that for a moment we thought if Schnuki had somehow got out of the shelter! But no, Yoda as we named the new dog, is most likely Schnuki's brother, as the veterinary estimates them to be of a same age, and they become instant best friends when they saw each other, so we believe they are from the same litter, and each ended up with homeless people. How many more siblings there are out there, we cannot know.... Schnuki is the bigger, stronger and sturdier of the two brothers. They both are very human-friendly, they love to go for walks, running in the dog parks, and just spending any time possible with the humans and together with each other. Our team often sees them gently wrestling in the kennel together, or laying and licking each other, they are very affectionate and support each other in the stress of the shelter. Both Schnuki and Yoda are confident, cheerful and playful - and will do great as single dogs of a family, or join a home with another playful dog already present. Of course it would be fantastic for them to go to a home together, however in that case the home would have to be a very capable home, to take care of, train and handle 2 teenage boys at the same time. When comparing Schnuki & Yoda, then firstly the similarities are that they both are puppy-type of playful, and jumpy when excited, and they both still need education and training, of course. They are both friendly with other social dogs, and also both listen quite quickly when it comes to setting boundaries and understanding what is wished of them and what not. Both Schnuki & Yoda have met children, and after their first bursts of energy is out (after waiting for a long time in their kennel), then they are so lovely, calm, soft and kind with children - kissing kisses and paw to kids, it is sweet to see. Schnuki has also already been on a day out with volunteers and he travelled very well and calmly in the car. When visiting the home of volunteers, he quickly learned that he was not allowed to enter the kitchen, and waited politely by the door. When the family is eating, he does not beg or bother humans, but lays down peacefully. When walking on the leash outside the shelter, he did not pull on the leash and walked past other dogs calmly. He is a curious boy, who loves to discover the wonders of the world, whether it's staring at ants working, or jumping in the waves of the sea. He is ready for his life ahead! Schnuki is the bigger, stronger brother, and he plays rougher than Yoda. If Schnuki would be an only dog of his home, then it would be great for him to meet & socialise with other dogs, especially educator dogs, on social walks, so he would receive some canine education from other dogs, and not become dominant or rough with others. Should Schnuki go to a home with another dog, then his new canine friend would either need to be an adult balanced dog able to set boundaries on the young teenager, or a playful dog that does not mind rough play. This "big brother" would love to have teacher dogs himself. Schnuki is so lovely with humans and would make an excellent dog for an active family, that has previous dog experience and enjoys engaging in dog training and activities with their furry friend. His shoulder height is 58cm.

About Schnuki

What life with Schnuki looks like

Schnuki is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnuki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnuki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnuki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnuki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schnuki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schnuki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnuki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
