SchrÄDi

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process SchrÄDi has found her home! Her story: SchrÄDi has arrived in her foster home and so far is a rather uncomplicated dog. She gets along well with the other dogs in the foster home, even though they are much larger than she is. One must be more careful that the larger dogs do not step on her, as she only weighs a fraction of them. House training and leash manners are being practiced diligently, but first, the little baby needs to settle in. She already knows cats from Romania and has no problems with them here. With the existing child in the foster home, she also gets along well. So, children would be possible in a family home, but only starting at the age of at least 6 years, and only if they have been taught respectful behavior with dogs. SchrÄDi, who is about 25 cm high and only weighs 5 kg at four months, is expected to remain small. SchrÄDi is puppy-like playful, she gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them. Lilya must still learn the entire dog ABC for a happy life in a loving family; house training, leash handling, and being alone are still foreign words to her. Also, puberty is approaching her – she needs people who meet her with a lot of love, patience, understanding, and loving consequence, and forgive her one or two mishaps. During puberty, she will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. A visit to a positively working dog training class will also help SchrÄDi to master this phase and develop into a wonderful companion for life. SchrÄDi is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. She brings her EU pet passport with her and can be adopted. Do you want to give SchrÄDi her own home? Many thanks Edna and Marcel! You have given SchrÄDi her name! Date: 01.03.

Stand: 01.03.2025

About SchrÄDi

What life with SchrÄDi looks like

SchrÄDi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting SchrÄDi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SchrÄDi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SchrÄDi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SchrÄDi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SchrÄDi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SchrÄDi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know SchrÄDi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
