Adopt Scooby

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

In mid-February, a dog was brought by the city police, who had bitten his owner. For several days, he was hardly visible at all, so scared he was. We also approached him cautiously - such circumstances and an unknown dog. After a few days, we went out with him for the first time - he turned out to be a very young, timid dog. From that moment on, Scooby regularly and every day goes out for walks. To people he knows, he gently wags his tail, sometimes even jumps joyfully, giving a kiss. Since he's been with us, he has never shown his teeth. During vaccination, he also behaved perfectly. We noticed a huge fear of everything - it's a bit puzzling, because the dog lived in the center of the city. He is afraid when seeing a larger group of people, afraid of noise, trucks, even a stronger wind causes him to be paralyzed by fear. 🙁 He knows the leash, doesn't destroy anything. He definitely needs a patient caregiver who will gradually introduce him to the new environment. He will find his place in a quieter neighborhood. The new caregiver should be prepared for possible work with a behaviorist, a home without small children. In the crate, he is an only child, but we know that in the home where he lived, he was with another dog. Scooby was born in 2023. Vaccinated and chipped. He is currently in Radom. Transport on his own.

W połowie lutego został przywieziony przez straż miejską pies , który pogryzł właścicielkę. Kilka dni praktycznie nie było go widać, tak bardzo się bał. A my też podchodziliśmy do niego z ostrożnością – takie okoliczności i nieznany nam pies. Zauważyliśmy ogromny strach wobec wszystkiego – to trochę zastanawiające, bo pies mieszkał w centrum miasta.Boi się widząc większą grupę osób, boi się hałasu, ciężarówek, nawet silniejszy wiatr powoduje u niego paraliż strachu. 🙁 Zna smycz, nie niszczy.Zdecydowanie potrzebuje wyrozumiałego opiekuna, który pomalutku będzie wprowadzał go w nowe otoczenie. Scooby urodzony w 2023 roku. Zaszczepiony i zaczipowany. Przebywa w Radomiu.Transport we własnym zakresie. Kontakt tylko telefonicznyOla 533 564 074Klaudia 609 530 953

About Scooby

What life with Scooby looks like

Scooby is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scooby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scooby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scooby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scooby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scooby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scooby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scooby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
