adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Scully has found her people! Her story: Zalau, Romania. Scully's beauty is overwhelming. When she looks sadly into the camera with her bright blue eyes, it breaks our hearts. Because Scully has just lost her family and is suffering in the shelter. She is completely overwhelmed by the confinement, noise, and loneliness. In the enclosure, she currently shows a distinct lethargy and barely eats anymore. Scully is desperately in need of a permanent home or a foster home so she can travel and not break under the harsh conditions of the shelter. The extraordinary Scully is approximately 1.5 to 2 years old and a medium-sized female dog at around 55cm and 23kg, in her prime. She has gone through puberty and now wants to start her life anew. Scully is very loving, open, and gets along well with all other dogs. She loves to cuddle. She already runs well on a leash and can be easily fitted with a harness and leash. She also knows how to ride in a car. Unfortunately, her story is very sad… Our animal welfare workers were contacted on-site to see if we would take in a Husky. The previous family could no longer keep her. Originally, Scully was meant as a gift for the daughter, but she left the country, and the mother felt overwhelmed with the dog. If we had refused, Scully would have been on a chain for life. So she was quickly picked up and brought to our private shelter. The woman said that Scully was bought from a breeder, but no papers are available. Scully is a Husky mix, or possibly even a purebred. Rasetypically, she brings a lot of energy and a high exercise drive. Huskies need to be properly exercised and occupied both physically and mentally. Often, they have a prey drive and recall training must be well trained. Huskies are considered gentle and people-oriented, but they do not like being alone. They are always and everywhere with their people. Dogs form a close bond with their owners. At the same time, they can also be independent, stubborn, and arrogant 🙂 We wish for Scully people who already have experience with the characteristics of a Husky or have dealt with them and know their needs. Our wonderful Scully is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. She has an EU pet passport and can travel after a positive match. Who will fall in love with our Blue-Eye Scully? Many thanks to Antje H.! You have given Scully her name and identity!.

About Scully

What life with Scully looks like

Scully is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scully, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scully?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scully on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scully if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scully already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scully isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scully and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
