She held the small Seal in her arms and offered 20 Lei for him, eventually selling him to Cori for 10 Lei. 10 Lei is roughly 2 Euros. A loaf of bread costs about 5-6 Lei. So, Seal is worth about one to two loaves of bread. We don't want to judge the girl, maybe the need drove her to do so, or maybe she was forced. It also shows that the value of dogs in Romania isn't particularly high. Whether Seal has siblings or a mother, Cori Luc couldn't find out. Taken from the mother too early, but it was certain that only the small Seal could be saved. He now lives in a Romanian foster home, growing and developing well. There, he waits to be old enough to travel to his own family. Seal is likely to grow into a medium-sized dog with an estimated weight of 20 kg. In the foster home, he lives with a dog and a cat and is already learning a lot, with something new every day. The name Seal isn't chosen by chance. Seal means "seal" in English. Bei Seal stellt sich die Frage, wie viel ein Hundeleben in Rumänien wert ist. Seal wurde von Cori Luc an einer Tankstelle in Dej von einem Sinti- und Roma-Mädchen abgekauft. Sie hielten den kleinen Seal in den Armen und hatten ihn für 20 Lei angeboten, um ihn schließlich für 10 Lei an Cori zu verkaufen. 10 Lei sind umgerechnet 2 Euro. Ein Brot kostet etwa 5 – 6 Lei. Also ist Seal etwa ein bis zwei Brote wert. Wir wollen das Mädchen jetzt nicht verurteilen, vielleicht hat die Not sie dazu getrieben, vielleicht wurde sie auch gezwungen. Es zeigt aber auch mal wieder, dass der Stellenwert von Hunden in Rumänien nicht besonders hoch ist. Ob der kleine Seal noch Geschwister hat oder eine Mutter, konnte Cori Luc leider nicht in Erfahrung bringen. Viel zu früh von der Mutter genommen, aber dennoch konnte mit Sicherheit nur der kleine Seal gerettet werden. Er lebt jetzt in einer rumänischen Pflegestelle, wächst und entwickelt sich prächtig. Dort wartet er nun darauf, alt genug zu sein, um in seine eigene Familie reisen zu können. Vermutlich wird Seal mal ein mittelgroßer Hund mit einem geschätzten Gewicht von 20 kg werden. In der Pflegestelle lebt er zusammen mit einem Hund und einer Katze und lernt auch schon ganz viel, jeden Tag war Neues. Der Name Seal kommt nicht von Ungefähr. Seal ist Englisch und bedeutet Seehund bzw. Robbe. Und so sah das kleine Hundebaby auch aus, als es gerettet wurde. Seal sucht Menschen, die erstmal nichts von ihm erwarten und ihm zeigen, wie ein normales Hundeleben funktioniert. Er ist noch ein Baby und muss noch viel lernen. Das ein oder andere Malheur sollte man ihm nicht übelnehmen und Seal stets mit einem positiv verstärkenden Erziehungsstil begleiten. Er freut sich schon auf sein neues Leben mit schönen Spaziergängen in der Natur, vielen Schmusestunden und auch auf einen Besuch in der Welpenschule. Im ersten Lebensjahr sollten Welpen so wenig wie möglich allein sein. Außerdem steht die eher anstrengende Pubertätszeit bevor. Das Hormonchaos stellt das Leben der kleinen Racker auf den Kopf. Sie „vergessen“ oft alles, was sie bisher gelernt haben, und die Ohren schalten auf Durchzug. Daher ist es in dieser Phase besonders wichtig, konsequent – aber liebevoll – zu erziehen. Und es gibt auch eine gute Nachricht: Auch diese Phase geht vorüber! Sobald Seal alt genug ist und alle notwendigen Impfungen hat, reist er zusätzlich gechipt, entwurmt und entfloht mit seinem EU-Heimtierausweis in seinem Gepäck.
