adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Adoption prerequisites Seico has found a home! His story: Seico is eagerly waiting to finally escape the public shelter in Baia Mare! Our Seico is a very sensitive male dog. At around 10 years old, he has left his wild years behind. Certainly, he has experienced a lot on the streets of Romania and especially never felt love and warmth. Now, that should change! He stands at 50 cm shoulder height and has a medium size. Seico gets along well with his fellow animals. He knows neither children nor cats. Seico wishes for a quiet home where he can still spend his remaining years in peace. We are looking for experienced and patient people for Seico. Our team members on site could take Seico out of his cage. After some time, he thawed out and allowed himself to be handled without problems. However, experience in reading the body language of the dog should be present. Seico is, however, a laid-back character and we are convinced that the stress in the shelter really affects him. With enough acclimation time and a patient and understanding family, Seico will surely show what a great guy he is! Without a story, Seico comes to us – now it's time to finally write one for him! What he has already seen and experienced is uncertain. We don't rule anything out and assume that he doesn't know what life in a household is like. But: what isn't, can still be! Seico can still learn the whole dog ABC and would so much like to finally get a chance! Seico travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He will bring his EU pet passport with him after a positive. Also, a foster home would really make Seico very happy! Who falls in love with our handsome Seico? Many thanks to Rene S.! You gave Seico his name and thus an identity. A big thank you also goes to Birgit Z., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Seico. As of: 06.12.

Vielen Dank an Rene S.! Stand: 06.12.2024

About Seico

What life with Seico looks like

Seico is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Seico, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Seico?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Seico on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Seico if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Seico already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Seico isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Seico and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
