Senior Shetland Pony

Female · Senior · 21 years

We have a senior Shetland pony looking for a quiet, calm and loving home where she can enjoy a peaceful retirement. She has had a difficult life before coming into our care and is now looking for a home where she can settle, feel safe and enjoy her retirement. Her new home must be able to provide safe, suitable turnout, along with appropriate stabling or field shelter to provide protection during adverse weather. Experience managing senior horses is essential. She has lived within a mixed herd alongside horses, ponies and donkeys of a range of ages and sizes, so she could make a suitable companion for a variety of equines. If you feel you could offer her the quiet and caring retirement home she deserves, please complete an application form. If we feel your home may be a good match, we will be in touch to discuss things further. Please note only local homes will be considered for this pony.

About Senior Shetland Pony

What life with Senior Shetland Pony looks like

Senior Shetland Pony is a senior horse waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

Frequently asked

Adopting Senior Shetland Pony, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Senior Shetland Pony?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Senior Shetland Pony on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Senior Shetland Pony if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a horse can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Many Tears Animal Rescue what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Senior Shetland Pony already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a horse comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Many Tears Animal Rescue directly what is included and what Senior Shetland Pony still needs.
What happens if Senior Shetland Pony isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Senior Shetland Pony and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
