Sernik

Male · Adult · 5 years

Sernik is a wonderful, small mixed breed dog who loves people and walks. He walks well on a leash, responds nicely to caregiver signals, and eagerly follows commands. He doesn't particularly like other dogs, but he politely passes them during walks and doesn't start any conflicts. Serniczek loves excursions! He enjoys riding the bus and is a model passenger. He gladly explores Warsaw parks and discovers city life. Street traffic slightly stresses him, but he handles it very well. In moments of uncertainty, he always seeks support from a person. In the first contact, Sernik is somewhat reserved and cautious, although we see that breaking the ice is going much faster for him than when he first arrived. He has made incredible progress! From a scared, emotionally struggling dog, he has become an ideal life companion. Sernik needs nothing more than the sense of security that a person provides. Often, instead of a walk, he chooses to nap next to a volunteer, because this closeness gives him the greatest happiness and comfort. He is an extremely sensitive and delicate dog, so he needs an empathetic caregiver who will be his life guide. For Serniczek, we are looking for a home without children and other animals. Rather in a quiet neighborhood than in the city center. We recommend a home visit during the adoption process. Beata 504 Viyaleta 720851234.

PL·Show original

Serniczek kocha wycieczki! Uwielbia jeździć autobusem i jest wzorowym pasażerem. Chętnie zwiedza warszawskie parki i poznaje miejskie życie. Często zamiast spaceru, wybiera drzemkę u boku wolontariusza, bo właśnie ta bliskość daje mu największe szczęście i ukojenie. To niezwykle wrażliwy i delikatny psiak, dlatego potrzebuje empatycznego opiekuna, który będzie jego życiowym przewodnikiem. Dla Sernika szukamy domu bez dzieci i innych zwierząt. Raczej w spokojnej okolicy, niż w centrum miasta. W procesie adopcyjnym zalecamy wizytę domową. Beata 504 Viyaleta 720851234.

About Sernik

What life with Sernik looks like

Sernik is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs quiet environment, sensitive to stress, requires patient owner

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sernik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sernik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sernik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sernik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sernik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sernik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sernik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
