After several weeks of treatment and care from our animal care team, Sgaeyl is ready to find her forever home.Sgaeyl can be a little shy when she meets new people but has grown in confidence each day with our animal care team, we believe in the right home environment, she will grow to trust people and start to grow a bond with her owners. Being a typical kitten, Sgaeyl does have a lively and fun personality when she is comfortable in her surroundings. She loves to have plenty of playtime with her toys or kitten friends!Sgaeyl would suit a family who have experience with cats and would prefer to be rehomed to a quieter household with children over the age of 10 years who understand that she may take time to settle into her environment. She does enjoys the company of other cats, so may be able to live with other cats with gradual introductions in the home. It is unknown how she would react around dogs. About Sgaeyl

What life with Sgaeyl looks like

Sgaeyl is a kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ulster SPCA in Northern Ireland.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sgaeyl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sgaeyl?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ulster SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sgaeyl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sgaeyl if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ulster SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sgaeyl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sgaeyl isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ulster SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sgaeyl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
