Shaba-3

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

A beautiful Shaba arrived at the shelter on December 4, 2024. Originally rescued from Ukraine by a German association and brought to safety in Hungary, we unfortunately know nothing about her past life. Since then, Shaba has been waiting for a positive change in her life at the Kecskemét animal shelter. We can't change her past, but her future is very important to us, and we are rooting for Shaba to soon find her ticket to happiness. Shaba is a wonderful dog who needs a lot of catching up on and wants to live a dog-friendly life. She has been sitting behind bars unfairly for too long. She is a friendly, nice, and loving lady who enjoys being pampered with caresses and attention, which unfortunately is in short supply in the stressful shelter environment. Shaba needs a lot of love and affection. She is a clever dog and her new people should enjoy teaching her some things because Shaba doesn't know much about basic dog training, but she already walks well on a leash, although it can still be improved. We are sure that Shaba will be enthusiastic and eager to learn when her two-legged friends practice with her, and she will quickly catch up on what she missed because she is happy when she is encouraged and challenged. She gets along well with her fellow dogs but lives alone in her kennel. (As of July 3, 2026) We are looking for enthusiastic and adventurous dog lovers who love, appreciate, and respect Shaba, a black beauty. Nice people who will catch up on all the missed moments with Shaba and show her what it feels like to have a caring home of her own, a bowl of food, a soft bed, and loving humans who pamper her with many caresses, exciting walks, dog-friendly activities, clear guidance, and full family connection. Who can Shaba be a loyal companion? There is suspicion of an old fracture on the front left leg; an X-ray is still pending. As for vaccinations, Shaba is ready to travel.

DE·Show original

About Shaba-3

What life with Shaba-3 looks like

Shaba-3 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shaba-3, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shaba-3?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shaba-3 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shaba-3 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shaba-3 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shaba-3 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shaba-3 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
