Sherbert (and Liquorice)

Female · Adult · 10 years

This beautiful pair are Liquorice and Sherbert! This adorable pair are bonded and although they don't do everything together; they get along great and will need to be placed. Liquorice is the more bold of the two and will likely make friends first but Sherbert won't be far behind! Both cats love a lap to curl up on and both enjoy lots of head and chin rubs. Both cats are super playful and enjoy running around after their balls or wrestling their mice. This dynamic duo are looking for a home with older school aged children who will spend lots of time playing with them and giving them the fuss and love they deserve. Even though both can be easily spooked they should be fine to settle into a quiet corner of the home and once fully settled, both cats will need cat flap access outside. About Sherbert (and Liquorice)

What life with Sherbert (and Liquorice) looks like

Sherbert (and Liquorice) is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sherbert (and Liquorice), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sherbert (and Liquorice)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sherbert (and Liquorice) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sherbert (and Liquorice) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sherbert (and Liquorice) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sherbert (and Liquorice) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sherbert (and Liquorice) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
