Shiba

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

A small female Shiba Inu, approximately 3 months old, was rescued from a situation where someone was asking for a bottle of whiskey in exchange for her. She is now safe and in our care. She is friendly, lively, and playful, typical of a puppy. Today, we rescued a small female Shiba Inu, approximately 3 months old. She was given up by someone who claimed to love animals. However, all this person asked for was a bottle of whiskey. It broke our hearts. Not just for Shiba, but especially for the realization of how little the value of an animal's life seems to mean to some people. And yet, sometimes a small dog's life is treated as if it were nothing more than an object that can be exchanged for a bottle of alcohol. These are the sad conditions we are confronted with here in Romania. 🇷🇴💔 Of course, we couldn't leave the little mouse behind. We took her into our care and gave her the name Shiba. Shiba was examined by a veterinarian, who found ticks, fleas, and Giardia. All of these will now be treated, and we are doing everything to ensure that the little girl quickly becomes healthy and strong again. 🩺❤️ Now Shiba can finally arrive, recover, and experience that people can also be different. That hands don't just mean suffering, but can also be caressing. That a basket can be a safe place. And that love is not something you have to earn. 🥺🐾 When Shiba is completely healthy, we hope she will find a wonderful family that will show her how beautiful a dog's life can be. 🏡💗 As is customary for a small puppy, there is still a lot for Shiba to discover and learn. The dog's 1x1, house training, leash walking, and all the many small and big adventures of life are still waiting for her. 🐶🎓 Maybe her new life is already waiting for you? 🥰🏡 Shiba is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and examined by a veterinarian. She has an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official Traces papers and Section 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are also tested for Mediterranean diseases with a rapid test. The deposit is €520 plus €30 for the purchase of the safety harness. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we are guided exclusively by their external appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). That is: This assignment is made according to the best knowledge and conscience of the association and the participating veterinarians. However, these details do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), because their reliable determination would only be possible through a DNA analysis. In addition, the behavioral and character description of the respective animal is based on careful observations by the animal protectors on site or by the respective foster families. It should be noted that these assessments relate exclusively to the current local conditions in the shelters or foster homes. It is important to understand that the fur nose will change after a successful

About Shiba

What life with Shiba looks like

Shiba is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shiba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shiba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shiba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shiba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shiba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shiba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shiba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
