Adopt Shiva

Female

Shiva and her siblings were been born in kennels after their heavily pregnant mum was rescued from the streets. They have grown up in kennels and Shiva has never had a real home, but she has always been showered with love and made lots of doggy and human friends there. Shiva is medium size, she has a lovely character, loves to explore, is very friendly with everyone she meets and loves a good zoomie. Her ideal home would be in a rural or semi rural area because she is not used to streets and ideally with another canine friend. She has basic lead training and is a very clever girl. Shiva is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Currently fostered in Somerset.Since being in a foster home Shiva has become really scared and needs lots of reasurance. The big change of everything she knew has made her unsure of the new life. However with every passing day we slowly see improvements and her true happy character. She is mastering house training and getting used to the new people. Shiva must be homed with a friendly confident dog, who will be able to give her confidence and reassurance.

About Shiva

What life with Shiva looks like

Shiva is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shiva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shiva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shiva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shiva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shiva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shiva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shiva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
