Sigi

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Sigi is a small dog that weighs just over 8 kg and... he definitely doesn't realize his size. Although small in body, he has a lot of energy, character and strength! The beginning in the shelter was very difficult for Sigi. The new place and the whole situation overwhelmed him so much that he just panicked. Fortunately, today it's hard to believe it, looking at how much he has changed. Sigi opened up, felt safer and showed that he is a cute, contact dog who is very eager to get human attention and definitely doesn't disdain a portion of affection. He is trouble-free in relation to people, and we have not noticed any problems in contact with other dogs so far. Sigi is not a couch dog who will be satisfied with a short walk around the block. He is very energetic, and after the quarantine period, he will want to make up for lost time! At home, he will certainly need a lot of exercise, play and spending time together. That's why we are looking for an active caregiver for Sigi, who will be happy to take him on longer walks, trips or sports activities. If you are looking for a small, full-of-life companion who will be happy to accompany you in an active lifestyle, Sigi is a great candidate. Small size, huge energy and even greater desire to be close to humans - that's what Sigi is. Now he just needs to find his human and his own home. In the shelter since the end of August 2026.

PL·Show original

About Sigi

What life with Sigi looks like

Sigi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sigi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sigi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sigi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sigi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sigi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sigi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sigi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
