Adopt Siki

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Siki is a young kitten who has already come a long way in trusting humans. When she arrived at our shelter, humans were just someone to watch from a distance – she had never sought out human contact and initially expressed her fear through urinating and meowing. Gradually, Siki has learned that humans can mean safety and care. She now allows herself to be petted and cuddled, and trusts humans enough to let them calmly adjust her nest and lift her kittens. These may seem like small steps, but they are major achievements for Siki. Siki still needs a quiet and patient home where she is not expected to show immediate affection, but instead allowed to develop at her own pace. Next to the right person, there is definitely a lot of trust and affection hidden inside her, waiting to be revealed. Right now, Siki is staying at a foster home in Tallinn and is waiting for her real person who will give her the opportunity to continue this beautiful journey in a safe home. Siki is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. If you would like to offer her a home, feel free to click the "Offer Home" button, fill out the adoption application, and we will contact you. Our center and the upkeep of these animals are only possible with the support of good donors. If you can be a helper in offering a permanent home, enter an appropriate amount in the "Donate to the animal" box and click the "Donate" button. Thank you for being a help to our animals in finding a new family and a warm home!

Need võivad tunduda väikesed sammud, kuid Siki jaoks on need väga suured saavutused. 💛🐾

About Siki

What life with Siki looks like

Siki is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Varjupaikade MTÜ in Tallinn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Requires patience and socialization - was initially fearful of humans

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

Frequently asked

Adopting Siki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Siki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Varjupaikade MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Siki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Siki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Varjupaikade MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Siki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Siki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Varjupaikade MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Siki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
