Silver

European Shorthair Β· Male Β· Young Β· 2 years

Hello, I am Silver 🧑 Not long ago, I was alone on the streets, desperately searching for protection. Luckily, a kind two-legged friend took me in and brought me to safety. Since then, I've been waiting to finally find my own home. I am approximately 2 years old, healthy, happy, and full of life. My days are best spent playing, exploring, and having little adventures. I am curious, brave, and always interested in what's happening around me. At the same time, I love being close to people very much. I am happy to be by your side without being pushy. Many say that I am a gentle, well-adjusted, and people-oriented tomcat. I am looking for a home with a cat lover where I will be loved and never have to be alone on the streets again. I have already been neutered, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and am fully vaccinated and dewormed for the journey to my new home. Maybe a faithful little companion with a big heart is still missing from your life?

About Silver

What life with Silver looks like

Silver is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺAdopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Silver, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Silver?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Silver on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Silver if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Silver already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Silver isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Silver and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
