Silver

Male · Senior · 20 years

Silver - a kitten found on Kruszelnickiego Street. Silver is a young tomcat who has been charming everyone with his cheerful disposition and curiosity from the very beginning. He is brave, very sociable and loves human contact. He eagerly approaches for pets, observes his surroundings with interest and discovers new places and situations with the typical energy of a young cat. This is a kitten full of charm who can amuse with his ideas and spontaneous behavior. He quickly establishes relationships with new people, is open and eager to play together. He is not lacking in curiosity or courage, so he enthusiastically explores the world around him. Despite his young age, Silver makes good use of the litter box and fits well into the daily routine. He is clever, learns quickly and adapts easily to new conditions. His intelligence and gentle, friendly disposition make him a wonderful companion both during play and quiet rest by the owner's side. Silver is looking for a responsible and loving home where he can safely grow up and enjoy a carefree cat life. In return, he will repay with affection, loud purring, lots of joint games and a daily dose of joy that only a happy cat can give. When adopting a kitten, you must remember that, contrary to popular belief, raising such a small animal is not at all the easiest. We do not recommend adopting kittens to a home where there are young children. Kittens are just learning how strong they can use their claws and teeth, which often causes scratches and bruises. This is the most common reason for returns from adoption. In the case of such young animals, you should be prepared to learn everything from scratch. Kittens are extremely energetic, can destroy furniture, curtains, etc. You must remember that a cat can live for up to 20 years, so taking a kitten, you must be prepared to be responsible for it for a very long time. Kittens usually instinctively use the litter box, but you should remember that there may be cases when you have to work on litter training. Remember that kittens are the highest risk group due to the lack of full vaccinations - they can get sick, the disease may initially be asymptomatic. ul. SILVER – kociątko znalezione przy ul. Kruszelnickiego. Nie brakuje mu ciekawości ani odwagi, dlatego z entuzjazmem poznaje otaczający go świat. About Silver

What life with Silver looks like

Silver is a senior cat waiting at Schronisko Kielce in Kielce.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Silver, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Silver?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kielce handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Silver on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Silver if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kielce will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Silver already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Silver isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kielce early rather than rehoming privately; they know Silver and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
