Silver

Female · Adult · 5 years

Silver is an extraordinary little cat with a delicate, grayish coat who has been waiting for a second chance for three years already. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was a mother to tiny kittens who have since happily found their forever homes. Unfortunately, the mother was left all alone, and the shelter became her prison. At first, she was wary and kept herself hidden in corners, avoiding any contact with people. Every glance triggered fear within her. Yet over time, Silver began to realize that people could be different. Now you can sit beside her—and even place treats right near her nose. Although she still doesn’t allow herself to be petted, she’s opened up to new experiences and is slowly starting to trust again. Silver needs an experienced caregiver who, with patience and love, will help her discover what it means to be truly loved. The shelter is not a place where she feels comfortable. She’s incredibly sensitive and friendly toward other cats, which speaks to her gentle and tender soul. She deserves a home where she’ll feel safe and accepted, a place where she can learn to love humans. Who knows—maybe you’ll be the one to guide her on this journey?

PL·Show original

About Silver

What life with Silver looks like

Silver is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Silver, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Silver?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Silver on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Silver if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Silver already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Silver isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Silver and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
