Sima

Female · Adult · 6 years

Sima is a lovely 9-month-old St. Bernard girl looking for her forever home. She hasn't had the best start in life and hasn't experienced many different environments yet. Despite this, she is a happy, lively and positive young dog who approaches the world with curiosity and joy. As a typical young St. Bernard, she is friendly, social and full of personality. She has a great deal of charm, a soft heart and a playful side that comes out when she feels safe. With continued guidance, training and new experiences, she has every opportunity to develop into an amazing family dog. Since she hasn't had the chance to experience much handling or different environments earlier in life, she will need a secure and stable person who can guide her through new situations with calmness, patience and positive experiences. With the right support and encouragement, she has good conditions for growing in confidence and developing into a secure and harmonious dog. She is looking for a home where there is plenty of time, commitment and love to give. She needs people who understand that she is still a young dog with much left to discover, experience and learn about the world. A home that can offer secure guidance, patience and positive experiences will give her the best conditions to develop into the fantastic adult dog she has potential to become. Experience with large dogs is an advantage, but the most important thing is the willingness to invest time in her continued development and to appreciate the great personality that comes with a growing St. Bernard. And yes... you also need to be prepared for some slobber, but it's more than compensated by the breed's big heart, charm and loving nature.

About Sima

What life with Sima looks like

Sima is a large adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sima, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sima?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sima on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sima if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sima already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sima isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sima and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
