Simba

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

DOB: 14 January 2024. Age: 2 years 7 months. Weight: 8.8 kg. Height: Approx. 30 cm Simba is a sweet, affectionate little dog who loves being part of everyday life without needing to be the centre of attention. He is Nino’s best friend and enjoys spending time with other dogs. He is friendly and open when meeting them and is very happy to join in with a game when the mood takes him. 🐶 People are equally important to Simba. He enjoys cuddles, affection and attention, but one of his loveliest qualities is that he isn’t demanding or pushy. He is quite content simply being close to you and sharing your company. During the day, Simba is generally calm and quiet. He likes to know what everyone is doing and enjoys being nearby, but he doesn’t feel the need to constantly demand attention or push himself into the spotlight. He has that lovely balance of being affectionate and sociable while also being able to settle and relax — the sort of little dog who could become a wonderful companion and quietly make himself a very important part of the family. ❤️ Simba will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: • A Uranotest Quattro, testing for Leishmania infantum, Ehrlichia canis, Anaplasma and the Dirofilaria immitis antigen• A test for Canine Brucellosis• His own Portuguese passport Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
