Adopt Simba

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Simba has found a home! His story: Klausenburg, Romania. Today, Simba introduces himself – a little puppy in this big world has packed his suitcase and is searching for his forever home! Together, the siblings Simba, Casper, Djona, Mara, and Fine were found in a laundry basket like dirty laundry at the shelter in Baia Mare. Fortunately, we found a foster home immediately, and now the little babies are in safety. Simba is a real clown, he plays all the time like crazy, does the wildest contortions to get attention, and finds everything initially great. A guarantee for good mood. He is a friendly and playful male dog. At two months old, he currently weighs 1-2kg. He is expected to grow to a small size. He is friendly, curious about contact with people, and gets along well with cats. The little boy still has to get to know life outside his cage. He is open and brave with new things, but Simba still has a lot to learn; he is not house-trained, nor can he be left alone, and the 1×1 of puppy training must be mastered. For Simba, we wish loving and active people who can also show him boundaries. Simba is about to enter puberty, a very decisive phase in the life of a young puppy, and the hormone chaos turns everything upside down. We want Simba to continue to develop well and need positive and consistent guidance under which he learns to accept boundaries. With patient people by his side, this phase becomes a very important one in his life, in which he forms a special bond. Simba will make a great companion for various activities. A lively puppy, who, by his great fortune, still lacks one thing – his entire family, he has more than earned it! Simba comes microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his family. He brings an EU pet passport with him and will only be placed after a positive home visit. Many thanks to Jana. You have given Simba a name and thus an identity!

Vielen Dank an Jana.

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
