Simba

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 10 years

Simba was rescued on June 28, 2018 and came to us in the winter of 2019. He is very playful and enjoys being around people. Simba is affectionate but also quite feisty when he doesn't like something, he can also bite or claw. But basically he is a very sweet cat. He is an outdoor cat and loves being outside and discovering nature. However, he needs people to pay attention to him and spend time with him. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible for us to keep Simba, as he only comes home occasionally. Sometimes he comes back almost wild but we can't take care of him properly when he only comes home for a short time once a month. Locking him in the house is not an option for us, as he really loves being outside. We also recently had a baby and I am a bit worried that Simba might hurt him if he doesn't like something. Maybe our son is the reason he doesn't like being at home anymore. Simba is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. We are looking for a new home with loving people who are often at home and can give him the attention he needs. It would also be nice if there is a lot of nature around him so he can continue to go outside and discover everything. Contact: Jessica Brunner Im Hummel 10 8716 Schmerikon 03

DE·Show original

Kontakt: Jessica Brunner Im Hummel 10 8716 Schmerikon 03

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Stiftung Tierheim Nesslau in Nesslau.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stiftung Tierheim Nesslau handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stiftung Tierheim Nesslau will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stiftung Tierheim Nesslau early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
