Simba

Scottish Fold · Male · Young · 1 year

Hello, my name is Simba and I was dropped off at the animal shelter. Here I show myself as a friendly, calm, and sophisticated tomcat. I am always very happy to cuddle! With other cats, I show myself to be well-matched, and I also got to know children in my previous home. I belong to the breed "Scottish Fold," and I carry the genetic defect OCD, which leads to significant changes in the cartilage area, hence the characteristic bent ears. Here, you should expect increased veterinary costs and a shorter life expectancy. More details can be discussed with our veterinarian. Since the breed is banned in Austria and only animal shelters can provide these cats, husbandry must be reported to the responsible BH, which the shelter will handle during placement to prevent my future people from getting into trouble. At the moment, I do not have any problems and show no other health issues. I am looking for a home suitable for apartment living with loving people who enjoy spending a lot of time cuddling. I would also be very happy about a feline friend in my new home! Do you want to give me a spot? Then get in touch!. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Dann melde dich doch!Dein Simba

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a young adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
