Simmie is gevonden onder de auto van een vrijwilliger op een regenachtige dag. Hij leeft sindsdien bij het gastgezin. Simmie heeft een fantastisch karakter. Hij is een vriendelijk katje die er van geniet om in huis te leven met mensen. Hij is erg aanhalig en kattenbak zindelijk. Simmie heeft een auto immuun tandvleesontsteking. Zijn tanden zijn in goede staat, alleen zijn tandvlees is rood en hij heeft af en toe pijn. Het is niet besmettelijk. Helaas is dit niet te genezen en hij zal daar mee moeten leven. Een dierenarts heeft gezegd dat met specifieke voedingssuplementen het immuunsysteem ondersteund kan worden en hij niet zo vaak antibiotica zal moeten hebben. Update: Simmie heeft een tijdje nodig gehad om een beetje te aarden in Nederland bij zijn opvangmama. Simmie leeft hier samen met meer dan 10 andere katten. Hij komt af en toe uit zichzelf om geaaid te worden en soms komt hij op de bank naast zijn opvangmama zitten om geknuffeld te worden. Bij onverwachte dingen is hij soms nog wat angstig. Visite vindt hij ook maar niets. Simmie heeft een huisje nodig waar het rustig is en waar niet te veel onverwachte dingen gebeuren. Jonge kinderen zijn daarom geen optie voor hem. Het gaat redelijk met andere katten, maar niet met allemaal. Een andere kat zou echter voor hem wel goed zijn, omdat dit hem helpt om sneller te wennen.
