Sindy + Alaska

Female

Hello there! Are you perhaps looking for a double dose of feline happiness? Then allow us to introduce ourselves briefly: We’re Sindy and Alaska! Actually, we thought we’d already found our forever home long ago. Four years ago, we were adopted together and have been living a wonderful, sheltered life ever since with our beloved human dad. But now, fate has struck our dad mercilessly: He’s seriously ill with cancer and will soon have to begin intensive chemotherapy. Because he’ll soon no longer be able to care for us as much as we deserve, he’s heartbroken but must sadly let us go. All he wishes for more than anything is to know that we’re safe and in the best possible hands. Although we’re not biological sisters, we’ve grown into an absolutely inseparable team over the past four years. The thought of losing each other, too, would break our hearts—so we’re only looking for a new cozy home together! We bring the perfect combination right into your life: I’m Sindy, the tricolor beauty, and I’m the braver of the two of us. I’m super sociable, totally people-oriented, and approach bipeds openly and full of trust. My friend Alaska, with her lovely white-and-gray coat, is a bit more reserved at first. She needs a little time to observe in a new environment, but she quickly warms up to kind people, too. We’re absolutely easygoing roommates—we know every nook and cranny of life in this house and get along wonderfully with children, too. Of course, both of us are already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. In addition, we’ve tested negative for FeLV (feline leukemia) and FIV—so we’re completely healthy and ready for our fresh start. Do you have a big heart and a spot on your sofa where we can happily find our way back to happiness together?

About Sindy + Alaska

What life with Sindy + Alaska looks like

Sindy + Alaska is a large adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sindy + Alaska, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sindy + Alaska?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sindy + Alaska on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sindy + Alaska if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sindy + Alaska already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sindy + Alaska isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sindy + Alaska and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
