Sirius Black

Belgian Malinois · Male · Puppy · 8 months

Playful Sirius is in his element when he has a ‘job’ to do. He loves playtimes, using his snoot and learning new skills. Although very active, he does enjoy some calmer moments where he leans in for a snuggle and a bum scratch. Sirius is an amazing dog and has all the potential to flourish with a family who can provide him with the time, training and routine he needs. Looking for an enthusiastic, young dog with bags of potential just waiting to be unlocked? Then meet Sirius Black! He’ll thrive with adopters who are passionate about training and enjoy the outdoorsy lifestyle. Fun games, activities and adventures will be great for keeping him mentally stimulated as well as physically; he’ll be a fantastic to work with! With other dogs, Sirius, can lack manners so will need continued support with this. For now, he will need to be the only dog in the home. This gorgeous boy is full of bounce and has a real zest for life. He’ll be best suited to living with teenagers who are comfortable and confident around larger, lively breeds.

About Sirius Black

What life with Sirius Black looks like

Sirius Black is a puppy/kitten belgian malinois dog waiting at Dogs Trust Darlington in Sadberge.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sirius Black, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sirius Black?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Darlington handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sirius Black on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sirius Black if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Darlington will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sirius Black already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sirius Black isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Darlington early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sirius Black and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
