Sita

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Sita is a friendly, confident, and curious young female dog who approaches people openly and adapts quickly to new situations. She loves to move and explore her surroundings, walks well on a leash, and gets along well with other dogs. Sita is attentive, interested, and clever - she finds treats and small tasks particularly exciting. Those looking for an active and lively companion may find Sita the perfect match. Sita is approximately 1 year old, stands about 58 cm tall, and weighs around 25 kg. She is a beautiful, athletic dog with a friendly and open nature. She is not only active but also very adaptable and curious about her surroundings. Her story began in a wooded area near Zalau. Sita was discovered, photographed, and fed by some people. However, no one came to help her for about a week. Eventually, a friendly veterinarian took her in and found a family for her. When the potential adopters learned that Sita was a female, they canceled the adoption - even though she had already been spayed. So Sita came into our care. Today, Sita is waiting to find people who will take her in permanently. She walks well on a leash and copes well with new situations. Her enjoyment of treats and quick understanding make her a good candidate for training and activities together. Agility could also be an exciting option for her later. Sita gets along well with other dogs. Cats have not been tested with her yet. Due to her active nature, we are looking for people who enjoy activities together and want to physically and mentally engage Sita. She should not just walk along but be part of family life and discover the world with her humans. However, life in a home will still bring some new experiences for Sita. She may need to learn about fixed routines, household noises, and living with her humans. With her open and adaptable nature, she has very good prerequisites for this. A positive dog school could be a great opportunity to learn together and strengthen the bond. Sita is a young dog with a lot of life energy, a friendly nature, and a desire for shared activities. She is looking for people who appreciate her open nature and give her the attention, exercise, and engagement that suits her. Anyone looking for an active, eager to learn, and uncomplicated companion should definitely get to know Sita. Sita travels spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and de-fleaed with her valid EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive preliminary check, she can be placed for a fee. Sita would also be very happy about a loving foster home. Thank you Anneke B.! You gave Sita her name! Date: 25.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! So kam Sita schließlich in unsere Obhut. Vielen Dank Anneke B.! Du hast Sita ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 25.09.2026

About Sita

What life with Sita looks like

Sita is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
