Sita

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Sita – a gaze that stays with you, and a heart full of joy Sita is a Podenca female dog with brown fur, fine white markings, and unusually bright eyes that immediately catch the eye and stay in memory. She was found alone at the door of the animal welfare organization Albayyasa on a winter morning and came into their care on December 1, 2021. At first, she was allowed to be in foster care with an engaged helper, where she received the basic things she desperately needed: warmth, rest, food, and a safe place. Initially cautious and impressed by the new situation, it soon became clear how much character and liveliness are in her. From the quiet, reserved female dog, she became within a short time an alert, playful companion with a lot of charm and her own opinion. In her foster home, Sita lives problemlessly with several dogs and cats. Especially typical of her is her great playfulness: running, playing, encouraging – she loves movement and interaction and brings with her a contagious energy. Even if not every animal roommate wants to keep up at all times, she is not deterred and remains friendly, curious, and playful. During her first excursions outside, she showed attentiveness, was well approachable, and revealed her gentle side, while at the same time it is clear that she is ready for an environment that offers her mental stimulation, companionship, and shared experiences. This makes Sita so special: this combination of a gentle expression, a watchful gaze, and a being that seeks closeness without being intrusive. Her appearance almost reminds of a small bear girl with her thick, soft fur, but behind this look lies an active dog that seeks connection and would gladly be part of a lively everyday life. Sita is currently still in foster care and hopes to find people who appreciate her love for play, her social nature, and her radiance. Whoever decides for her will not get a hollow promise, but a dog with a clear personality, a lot of heart, and the ability to enrich everyday life – because with Sita by your side, days are rarely ordinary. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Sita

What life with Sita looks like

Sita is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
