Skitz

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Courtesy post for our friends at Feline Fine Foundation – Skitz is losing his foster home on Oct 1st so it’s urgent he finds his furever home soon ❤️ “Skitz is a lovely cat and once he finds his forever home I’m sure he will thrive. He has been with us for nearly 2 weeks and is still quite unsettled. However, saying that he does come to greet us when we’ve been out. He is affectionate but on his terms with head butts and wanting a fuss. From the very first night he brings us gifts into the bedroom once lights are out. It’s always the same 2 toys. Our grandchildren (7 and 8yrs) have had a couple of sleepovers and Skitz is very curious. He particularly likes our grandson and follows him about. He also likes to come and check out any visitors. Prefers just dry food but loves a Licky Stick.” He’d like to be the only pet and have a garden away from busy roads for when he’s brave enough! 3yrs old, neutered, chipped and comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Please mail us at with your ADDRESS and CONTACT NUMBER if you can give Skitz his happy ever after. 🙂

About Skitz

What life with Skitz looks like

Skitz is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skitz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skitz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skitz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skitz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skitz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skitz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skitz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
