Snoopy

Female · Young · 3 years

Snoopy is a sweet girl looking for a warm lap to cuddle. We don't understand why anyone would miss this lovely girl. She is very gentle and friendly. Upon arrival, she was not chipped and keeps circling in her kennel. She doesn't know much about the world, probably she has spent her whole life in a kennel. She has now been named Snoopy and her age is estimated to be 3 years old. Snoopy is a social, curious dog. She comes directly to you and loves cuddling. We notice that she likes being with you and that's also what we are looking for her. She really enjoys being outside! In new environments, she needs to warm up, but once she is used to it, she goes all out. Then she wants to run, play and sniff. It's important to know that Snoopy still has a lot to learn. She doesn't seem to be used to living in a house, she doesn't know the basic commands and only staying home and potty training requires extra attention. Snoopy loves to be busy, especially if there is something tasty in it. With children and other animals, we don't expect any problems. In fact, she loves children! What Snoopy wants most is unconditional love and people who have time and patience with her. Interested in Snoopy? Interesse in Snoopy? About Snoopy

What life with Snoopy looks like

Snoopy is a large young adult dog waiting at Dierentehuis in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snoopy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snoopy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snoopy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snoopy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snoopy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snoopy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snoopy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
