Snoopy

Labrador Retriever · Male · Senior · 10 years

Snoopy is a lively, outgoing Labrador-mix in his prime, 10 years old, 55cm, neutered. Snoopy is a cheerful, open Labrador-like mix who approaches people openly and brings a lot of joie de vivre. His former owners in Slovakia no longer cared for him, and so he wandered alone until animal rescuers took notice of him. Now Snoopy wants to grab his luck by the horns and travel to a loving family. With his thick, shiny black coat, beautiful brown eyes, and cute floppy ears, Snoopy has typical Labrador traits. Even at around 8-10 years old, Snoopy has retained his lively nature and enjoys exercise and activity. For Snoopy, we wish for a home with loving people, preferably with older, equally agile and active people, where he can finally arrive and grow old as a full-fledged family member. With his open and friendly nature, we can also imagine Snoopy with dedicated first-time dog owners. We assume a visit to a dog school. Snoopy gets along well with other dogs and would therefore also fit into a household with another dog. No health restrictions have been found in Snoopy. He is chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and examined by a veterinarian. His EU pet passport is ready, he can leave Slovakia at any time for his new home. Do you want to get to know Snoopy? He is looking forward to inquiries or by phone: Origin: Slovakia.

About Snoopy

What life with Snoopy looks like

Snoopy is a large senior labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Südkreta e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snoopy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snoopy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Südkreta e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snoopy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snoopy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Südkreta e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Snoopy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snoopy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Südkreta e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snoopy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
