adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Snoppi has found a home! His story: Our handsome Snoppi is a mixed-breed male dog, about nine months old, originally from Romania. As an abandoned puppy, he had to face the harsh realities of life early on. But his luck held, and he was allowed to travel to Germany to a foster home, where he settled in phenomenally fast. Snoppi is a true heart-throb there and makes us incredibly proud with everything he's learned in a short time. Not only is he house-trained, but he's also a true all-rounder in everyday life. He travels easily by bus and train, knows the commands "sit" and "stay," and is a big people person. He also gets along famously with his four-legged colleagues and meets them with enthusiasm. On the leash, he walks obediently and safely, and he also masters car rides with panache. His joie de vivre and adaptability make him truly an extraordinary companion, where one can unequivocally say that here, unbridled loyalty meets a giant heart. With his friendly and social nature, he is the ideal choice for families, couples, or individuals who lead an active life and would like to engage with their furry companion. The lively Snoppi, who loves learning new things, and always shows how clever and attentive he is, would benefit greatly from a visit to a good dog training class. This could help him further solidify and deepen his basic obedience skills. However, in a few months, Snoppi will be entering puberty. During this time, everything will be thrown into disarray in his head, rules will be questioned, and boundaries will be re-explored. But we are confident that with the loving and consistent support from his human family, he will emerge from this phase strengthened and develop into a magnificent male dog. Optically, Snoppi, who somewhat resembles a German Shepherd, also captivates through his appearance. His brown fur, which is fondly stroked, contrasts beautifully with the darker snout area, while his playful floppy ears make him unique. Snoppi is not fully grown yet, but he is expected to reach a medium size. After a positive health check, he is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and has an EU pet passport. The wonderful Snoppi eagerly awaits a visit in his foster home. Who is ready to take the risk, fall in love with him immediately, and meet him there? Many thanks to Astrid M. for her generous support as a namingsponsor. As of: 21.06.

Stand: 21.06.2024

About Snoppi

What life with Snoppi looks like

Snoppi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snoppi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snoppi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snoppi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snoppi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snoppi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snoppi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snoppi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
