Snow

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Male Miniature Bull Terrier Born 2023 Surrendered animal Neutered yes / [] no In the shelter since 25.06.2026 ________________________ Snow was surrendered because he bit his new owner who had received him as a gift the day before. He is deaf and urgently needs people with whom he can finally relax and settle in. He is a sensitive dog overwhelmed by the shelter situation, who has apparently not only experienced good things. He shows himself to be human-oriented, but also sometimes insecure and somewhat detached from what is happening around him. A big reason for this could be explained by his deafness, but we also suspect that Snow had little socialization, but was neglected or isolated in the past. Due to stress, Snow shows the typical circling behavior, which is often pronounced in Bull Terriers. Otherwise, he has a rather calm nature and has not yet shown us any specific trigger point at which snapping or biting behavior occurred. We wish for Snow a home that brings solid experience with Bull Terriers and/or deaf dogs and provides him with much orientation, handles Snows insecurities sensitively and works without pressure on Snow to trust his humans and move safely and calmly in his environment. There should be no children or small pets in the new home, but Snow is generally not incompatible with other dogs, but also has difficulty getting in touch with them and prefers to do his own thing, a dog at the vet shows himself accommodating and unproblematic. He knows how to wear a muzzle, is generally well on the leash, but also has moments of stagnation here and there. We are still working out whether this is testing, uncertainty, discomfort or a completely different cause. We very much hope to find the right people for Snow who can stand by him and adapt to his special needs so that he finally learns to have a firm, reliable and loving home and enjoy it. About Snow

What life with Snow looks like

Snow is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
