adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Snowie has found her home! Her story: Snowie – clever, friendly, and adventurous! The sweet white Snowie is only four months old and apparently grew up on the streets where she was found. For her young age, she is very balanced and shows friendliness towards others. She is gentle, loves being stroked, and enjoys the company of humans very much. She appears more calm and composed – a little dachshund lady with a fine sense for her surroundings. Snowie is also very clever and attentive. Within just a few minutes, she has understood and carried out her first small exercises, showing how eager and intelligent she is to learn. She gets along well with other dogs and shows herself to be social and open-minded. Her pure white, soft fur makes her appear particularly delicate and graceful – almost as if she were a little snowflake dog radiating light and calm. Currently, she is 37 cm tall and weighs around 10 kg – she is expected to grow to a medium size when fully grown. Also, her puberty is still ahead. This can make the little ones forget everything they have learned. Snowie is now waiting to find her own family, which will lovingly take her in and show her how beautiful a protected life can be and where she can experience many new adventures. Who gives this little white beauty the chance at a happy home? Snowie is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. Due to her young age, she is not yet spayed. For that, she has her EU pet passport with her. An additional foster home would also be a great blessing for her. Many thanks to Vanessa E., who gave Snowie this fitting name and the chance at a life full of experiences. Status: 30.10.

Stand: 30.10.2025

About Snowie

What life with Snowie looks like

Snowie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snowie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snowie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snowie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snowie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Snowie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snowie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snowie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
