Snowy & Skippy

Jack Russell Terrier Β· Female Β· Senior Β· 11 years

Snowy & Skippy are a looking for a home together, they are looking for a calm and relaxed home with adopters who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and care he deserves. They are going to need time to settle in and get to know their new family so would like an adult only home where they will get the peace and quiet they need. Snowy & Skippy will be going home together and could live with another dog of similar size who will happily co-exist with them. They are not currently going on walks so will need a private, secure garden where they can potter at their leisure outside. Snowy & Skippy can settle in the home as long as they are together, so could be left for up to 4 hours, this would need to be built up gradually after they have had time to settle into their new home. They will need to their adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Meet Skippy the 11 year old Jack Russell and Snowy the 11 year old Bishon cross, who are looking for a home to call their own, these pawsome pooches find the big wide world a rather scary place and need an understanding family who will help them to grow in their confidence gently and at their own pace. Skippy and Snowy would live to find a cosy home with some comfy beds to snooze on and someone to care for and spoil them. These lovely fluffs are ready to find their new home.

About Snowy & Skippy

What life with Snowy & Skippy looks like

Snowy & Skippy is a large senior jack russell terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Snowy & Skippy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Snowy & Skippy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Snowy & Skippy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Snowy & Skippy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Snowy & Skippy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Snowy & Skippy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Snowy & Skippy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
